Rahul Yadav: Technical, Functional, Global Engagements

I have an entreprenurial background before I started consulting for prestigious firms like Deloitte, Accenture, Cognizant and Capgemini. Every client has a unique business model and thinking like a business owner helps me better understand their problems and provide effective solutions.

Over the years, working across various sectors has given me insights into the intricacies of different industries. I often draw on these experiences to provide tailored solutions that address not just immediate concerns, but also long-term strategies that align with global sustainability goals.

1990 – 94: Computer Engineer by profession: Took Artifical Intelligence as an elective subject.

During my studies as a Computer Engineer, I was fascinated by the potential of Artificial Intelligence to revolutionize industries. This foundational knowledge has been invaluable in my consulting work, especially when guiding clients in integrating AI into their business operations to enhance efficiency and customer engagement.

Keen to support multi-modal Agentic AI implementations to improve and automate processes for business growth.

1994 – 98: Renewable energy: Setup a greenfield venture in India to convert agricultural waste into biomass briquettes. Also supported family business in real estate and construction.

The venture in biomass briquettes was not just a business, but a mission to promote eco-friendly practices in India. I faced numerous challenges, from sourcing raw materials to educating farmers about the benefits of biomass energy. Through collaboration with local communities, we were able to create a sustainable supply chain that not only supported the business but also empowered farmers, demonstrating the importance of social responsibility in entrepreneurship.

1999 – 2001: At the onset of IT boom in India, setup IT training centres in India and started consulting in India for a US based IT consulting firm.

Having experience of running a small business in both India and UK, I understand small business’ challenges. Therefore, passionate about taking UK small businesses to India through M&A or direct investment route.

2001 till date: Based in UK as a Management Consultant with expertise in:

  • Digital Transformation engagements for customer facing operations.
  • Post M&A integration: When Merck and Schering Plogh merged, I worked with the senior leadership team in Europe to implement their merger strategy across Infrastructure, People and Processes.
  • Delivery of complex global engagements with teams and stakeholders across time-zones.

Working on the Merck and Schering Plough post-merger integration was a pivotal moment in my career. The complexity involved in aligning two corporate cultures and integrating diverse operational processes presented significant challenges. I facilitated workshops that encouraged open dialogue between teams, which fostered collaboration and ultimately led to a smoother integration process. This experience highlighted the importance of people in any change initiative.

In my ongoing role as a Management Consultant, I have worked with diverse teams across various geographies. My experiences have taught me that effective communication and cultural sensitivity are paramount when managing global engagements. Leading projects that span multiple regions requires not only technical expertise but also the ability to foster strong relationships across different cultures and business practices.

Digital transformation is more than just adopting new technologies; it’s about changing the mindset of an organization. I have guided several companies through this journey, helping them to embrace a digital-first approach that enhances customer experiences. This includes implementing customer relationship management systems that provide insights into customer behaviour, allowing businesses to tailor their services accordingly.

This unique blend of technology and business knowledge equips me to tackle the challenges that organizations face today. I utilize project management tools that allow for real-time collaboration, ensuring that teams across different time zones can work effectively.

Additionally, I emphasize the importance of regular check-ins to keep all stakeholders aligned and informed throughout the project lifecycle. By staying ahead of these trends, I ensure that my clients are not only prepared for current challenges but are also positioned for future success.
